Würzburg

Wurzburg is in Franken (Franconia). It is central to the wine growing region of Germany and has a number of winemakers, amoung them the Juliusspital. We went there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary in 2007.
**These Green Men were found by a colleague of mine, who was there playing a concerto. She kindly photographed them for me. Many thanks to Claudia Michaelson (Principal Viola, Anhaltische Philharmonie, Dessau.)

The building dates from 1905-1906. There are Green Men carvings all over it! Green Men are often found on banks, post offices, and other such municipal buildings. They have copied the trend here Just one example of the Green Men on the building
